EXACT 3/8 OD TO 3/8 ID FIT - The compression side fits 3/8 in outside-diameter rigid tubing, while the hose barb fits 3/8 in inside-diameter flexible hose. This is not a 3/8 NPT connection. Verify both tube OD and hose ID before ordering. TRANSMISSION COOLER LINE REPAIR - Converts cut 3/8 in OD metal hard line to flexible 3/8 in ID hose for transmission oil cooler repairs, auxiliary cooler installations, and line extensions without welding or re-flaring the tube. INTEGRATED SOLID BRASS BODY - The hose barb and compression body are machined as one brass piece, eliminating an extra threaded adapter joint in the connection path while providing durable corrosion resistance for automotive service. COMPRESSION FERRULE CONNECTION - Cut the 3/8 in OD hard line square, clean and deburr the end, slide on the compression nut and ferrule, fully seat the tube, then tighten securely. The ferrule creates the seal, so PTFE tape is not used on the compression threads. SECURE 3/8 ID HOSE CONNECTION - Push properly rated 3/8 in ID hose fully over the barb and secure it with a correctly sized hose clamp. Hose and clamp are not included. Use hose rated for the fluid, temperature, and pressure of your system, and check the connections for seepage after installation. 2 PACK FOR REPAIR OR INSTALLATION - Includes two complete adapters, each with a brass body, compression ferrule, and nut. Useful for both sides of a cooler-line modification, an external transmission cooler installation, or keeping a spare for future service. Descriptions:
Evangenial 3/8 OD compression to 3/8 ID hose barb adapters provide a straightforward way to transition from rigid hard line to flexible hose in automotive and compatible fluid-transfer systems.
SIZE MATTERS: The compression side fits 3/8 in OUTSIDE DIAMETER rigid tubing, while the hose barb fits 3/8 in INSIDE DIAMETER flexible hose. These are different measurement methods. This fitting is not a 3/8 NPT adapter and is not an AN or flare fitting.
Designed primarily as a transmission cooler line fitting, it can be used for transmission cooler line repair, transmission oil cooler line extension, ATF line modification, and auxiliary transmission cooler installation where a 3/8 in OD hard line needs to transition to a 3/8 in ID hose. No tube flaring is required.
INSTALLATION: Cut the hard line square using a suitable tubing cutter and remove burrs from the tube end. Slide the compression nut and ferrule onto the 3/8 in OD tube, insert the tube fully into the fitting body, and tighten the compression nut securely. The ferrule forms the compression seal, so PTFE tape should not be applied to the compression threads.
On the hose side, push compatible 3/8 in ID hose fully over the hose barb and secure it with a correctly sized hose clamp. Hose and clamp are not included. After installation, inspect the connections for seepage and recheck them after the system reaches normal operating temperature.
The integrated solid brass body combines the compression fitting and hose barb in one component for a simple hard-line-to-hose conversion. In addition to transmission cooler applications, the fitting may be used in compatible oil, fuel, air, and non-potable fluid-transfer systems when the tubing, hose, clamps, and all other system components are properly rated for the intended fluid, temperature, and pressure.
BEFORE ORDERING: Confirm both dimensions - 3/8 in OD rigid tubing on the compression side and 3/8 in ID flexible hose on the barb side.
