Within the poetry of this book, I pray you will find yourself in the margins. In the spaces in-between, what I have written and the answers your own heart is searching for. I have poured my heart and soul into these lines, for to me, poetry is not just an expression; it has been an ongoing conversation with Jesus through the years. As you open the pages, I invite you into a glimpse into my own questions, desires, and insecurities. For I am sure you will relate to them yourself. However, in the midst of the shared experience of human weakness, I don't want to leave you there. I have read many works of poetry that seem to leave me sinking into the depths of the writer's struggles and rarely finding the light at the end of the tunnel. That is not the purpose of this work of writing; my desire is for you to put down this book and walk away with an insatiable sense of hope. My own writing journey started as long as I can remember. My desire to write took the form of poetry as young as twelve years old, when I truly had an encounter with Jesus. He became my best friend and an inate desire grew in me to start sharing that relationship with others, which produced the manuscript that I present to you today. So if you just read a poem a day to inspire your heart, or read the entire book in one sitting. I pray that it will inspire you to take one small step forward into your own personal relationship with God.
