W. Curtis Porter (1897-1960) labored diligently as a gospel preacher, writer, and debater. He began preaching at the age of seventeen and continued that work until his death. He is best remembered as a debater, having engaged in over seventy-five throughout his lifetime. His wit, courage, humility, knowledge of God's word, and keenly analytical mind made him a formidable debater as he stood set for the defense of the gospel. Porter also wrote a few short books in which he challenged various denominational errors, including the claim of modern-day miracles and the rejection of baptism from God's plan of salvation. This volume contains four books by Porter: Ask Your Preacher , Quibbles That Backfired , Dissolving a Few Baptist Aspirins , and Divine Healing . The topics addressed in this material are just as relevant today as when Porter first wrote them. The truth of God's word does not change, and these same errors continue to be taught and lead many astray. The book will help the reader gain an appreciation for Porter and his work. However, more importantly, it will help those who know the truth to become better equipped at defending it. This material will also help those who have not yet learned the truth to come to an understanding of it.
